Stress vs Anxiety - They are NOT the same
Most people experience stress and anxiety at some point in their lives. Depending on the level of severity, they can detrimentally impact one’s quality of life. There's a very thin line between STRESS and ANXIETY. Both are emotional responses but not the same. The difference between them is that stress is a response to a threat in a situation. Anxiety is a reaction to the stress. What contributes to stress and anxiety can vary hugely from person to person and differs according to our social and economic circumstances, the environment we live in and our genetic makeup. But the common symptoms of stress and anxiety are -
Symptoms of Stress -
Typically caused by an external trigger and are short term.
Loss of sleep, headaches, rashes, high blood pressure.
A feeling of being overwhelmed , nauseous,
Overthinking, dizziness.
Upset stomach, loss of appetite.
Moodiness, irritability, anger
Symptoms of Anxiety -
Faster heartbeat, faster breathing
A feeling of unease or dread, sweating
Upset stomach, loss of appetite
Feeling of nervousness, tenseness, restlessness.
Feeling threatened or scared most of the time.
Loss of sleep, constant headaches.
